On October 6 and 7, domestic and international arbitration professionals had a date with all the latest developments at the seventh edition of the Open de Arbitraje, which took place in Madrid in a hybrid format. This was the most international and ambitious edition of the event to date, which marked the return to the face-to-face format and resulted in record growth figures.
The theme chosen for this year was sustainability and the environment, joining all the green initiatives that have emerged in the field of arbitration globally. All arbitration stakeholders were able to discuss and share impressions on all the latest developments in international commercial and investment arbitration; sustainability, arbitration and human rights, Madrid as a safe arbitration seat, construction, the hotel sector, etc. Up to 80 speakers were present in a program that included a large number of companies, in-house lawyers, law firms and experts.
The format chosen for the event has meant a greater international projection. The return to the in-person and spectacular staging that characterizes the event, was also combined with a firm commitment to improve the user experience of the virtual assistant, giving it greater autonomy. Thus Arbee was born, the social network of arbitration, where the user could access a streaming TV format, with high audiovisual quality and all the technical means, as well as having the opportunity to network with private chat and streaming meetings hosted on the platform itself. Our sponsors also had their own space where they could provide the user with exclusive content of their activity. Arbee will remain active throughout the year and is set to become an online meeting point for arbitration professionals at an international level.
With more than 1,000 registered users on the platform, the Online Arbitration Open had a total of 1,200 live views and peaks of activity of up to 700 people following the event simultaneously from 35 different countries. These record figures help to understand the international magnitude that the congress has taken on in this latest edition.
None of this would have been possible without the invaluable help of all the sponsors. 37 firms and companies have once again supported the Open as the Congress of reference, showing their confidence in our format.
Arbee will remain active throughout the year.
The Arbitration Open 2021 platform will remain active throughout the year, hosting the different Little Open sessions that we will hold throughout the year, giving our attendees the opportunity to network, as well as serving as a platform for content related to the world of arbitration for all our sponsors. A platform where industry professionals can find a space to discuss, comment and continue training in the practice of arbitration.
